A clear guiding line, in the service of a single conviction: great music should be both demanding and open to everyone.
Concerts in Fougères and across the whole area, for every audience: adults, children, hospital patients, care-home residents, schoolchildren and conservatoire students. The festival is first for the people of Fougères, yet reaches out to the Breton coast, the Rennes area, Mayenne and Manche.
Professional musicians with brilliant careers in France and abroad, who perform in the world's great halls. The festival also champions the voice by inviting renowned singers. A very high standard of programming is the very condition of its longevity.
Concerts in listed or remarkable venues. Saint-Sulpice church, with its exceptional acoustics and facing the castle, is the favourite setting for the great concerts — alongside the Victor-Hugo theatre, Saint-Léonard church, the Couvent des Urbanistes and the Juliette-Drouet cultural centre.
Inviting women musicians and singers, including as headliners, to as many concerts as possible. For 2027, the aim is to feature women in the majority of public concerts, with three headline names.
Giving the younger generation the chance to perform alongside the greatest, and becoming a Breton benchmark for musicians emerging from France's institutions. With cross-arts projects (literature, painting) and contemporary premieres too.
Extending schools concerts to the least-favoured establishments, with partners such as the CFMI in Rennes, and deepening our complementarity with the Fougères conservatoire and the Pont Supérieur in Rennes: open rehearsals, meetings, a shared stage, preferential rates.
Prices unchanged for several years despite inflation, reduced or free seats for children, students and jobseekers, and free concerts — as well as concerts given in hospitals and care homes, so that music also reaches those who cannot come to it.
Lasting agreements with political and cultural institutions, local contributors in the schools concerts, and solid partnerships with Fougères craftspeople and the Tourist Office to support local trade and the area's economy.
As a recognised public-interest association, Fougères Musicales can issue tax receipts. A gift from an individual gives a 66 % income-tax reduction; corporate patronage, 60 %. A €100 gift therefore costs you only €34.
